Regions Rising - Western Australia

Regional Australia Institute (RAI) is proud to present Regions Rising Western Australia 2026. This event will be held on Tuesday 30th June 2026.

Please note: this event has been rescheduled from 6 May 2026 to 30 June 2026.

Since 2019, the Regional Australia Institute’s (RAI) Regions Rising series has been the leading platform for tackling the challenges and opportunities shaping regional Australia. Through full-day conferences held across the country, these events connect communities, industry leaders, policymakers, and thought leaders to drive meaningful action and foster collaboration.

On 30 June 2026, we’re excited to be heading to Pan Pacific Perth, Perth, Western Australia, for a dynamic day of insights, discussions, and networking. This event will showcase regional strengths, explore critical issues, and share actionable strategies grounded in RAI’s research.

The WA conference will focus on:

Regionalisation - driving regional systems change

Regional systems are thebedrock of Australia’s transformation, yet how effectively are we navigating this dynamic eco-system and as active partners in a network of government, industry and community actors. As we look to the future, the opportunities before regional Australia are immense. The potential to create win/winscenarios are within our reach but horizontal policy levers need to work in parallel, not in fragmented silos.

Whether it’s our energy transition, our population and migration reset, navigating housing expansion policies and planning, understanding our levers for productivity enhancement or providing support and ballast to our education sector – these are complex times. Yet, rebalancing our nation is our shared goal, so join us as we explore the federal and state dynamic to ensure regional Australia is at the centre of our decision making.

We have a bold ambition, and this definesus, the belief that regional Australia doesn’t just participate in the nation’s progress, it powers it. Through strong local leadership, sustainable industry, and smarter planning, regionalisation will be the driving force behind a more balanced, prosperous Australia.
